Flutterbyes

I finally got round to taking some of the macro shots I'd been promising myself I'd do ever since I bought my macro lens way back in December. I'd bought it primarily to photograph butterflies and other insects and here are the first butterfly results. I'm quite pleased with these.
It was while I was photographing the butterflies that the weather decided that we'd had our quota of sun for the day and it promptly clouded over and reverted to the default setting for English summers = rubbish. The butterfiles decided that it was time that they, too, also left.

By the way, if you have a spare 15 minutes please take part in Butterfly Conservation's Big Butterfly Count.

The butterflies are: Peacock, Red Admiral, Speckled Wood (on the washing!) and Meadow Brown.

I had the best garden tick of all time (for me anyway) yesterday, with a pair of Peregrines displaying. They soon flew off but it was good while it lasted - the same, unfortunately, can't be said for my photos of them...!
